Cover Letters/Thank You Letters: The Underutilized Job Search Tools

This program is targeted to individuals in job search who are sending out resumes and not getting interviews, or those who have had interviews but don’t get job offers.

In this presentation, Gary shows the kind of letters that get the attention of hiring managers. He presents examples of his own interview-winning cover letters, as well as the thank you letters that set him apart from his competition and got him job offers.

ABOUT Career Support Group (CSG)

We are where job search and career management come together. For 10+ years, the Career Support Group (CSG) at St. Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton Square, NJ, has provided a safe space for participants to learn, network, and help one another.

Monthly meetings feature different career experts and topics to help you advance in your career or job search. We generally meet on the third Saturday each month from 8:30am – 10:30am. Meetings are geared towards professionals and are open to the public. No cost to participate. All are welcome!

Participants include those seeking new job positions, wanting to advance in their careers, considering a career change, re-entering the labor market, recently graduated, and those who want to stay abreast of current trends or are paying it forward.

Gary Lande is known to many of you as a member of the Professional Services Group of Mercer County Executive Committee. He works with the committee to help develop training programs supporting individuals in job search.

Gary is a professional career coach specializing in helping individuals in career transition develop their written job search materials. He is a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches. His mission is helping open interview doors for his clients. He does this by working with them perfect their resumes, optimize their LinkedIn profiles, write interview-winning cover letters, and effective thank you letters.

Prior to supporting clients in search of opportunities, he was a supply chain management executive in Fortune 100 pharmaceutical and consumer products companies, which included Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson. He enjoyed a long and successful corporate career, and brings substantial personal experience about job search having been in transition himself several times.
